The story of Umm Qirfa, an elderly woman from the Banu Fazara tribe, is described in some early Islamic sources as having been executed in an exceptionally brutal manner, by being tied between two camels that were driven apart, causing her death. The account is frequently cited in discussions of early Islamic history.
