Taqiyah (Lying)

 

In Islam it is allowed to lie to other people. We will discuss about it here.

Let's first read an ayah in Quran 3:28

This verse says it is not allowed to make disbelievers as friends unless to protect your selves. And they should hide their true nature to the disbelievers.

Now read the Ibn Kathir Tafseer of 3:28

So in hearts they do hate and curse disbelievers and in outside they show happy similing face.

Also read Tafseer al-Jalalayn 3:28

Same thing is mentioned here. A muslim should hide his true nature of hatred in his hearts.

Now, we will look what hadiths are saying...

Read Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1939

So in three cases a muslim is allowed to lie another.

• During battle
• to please wife
• to bring peace between 2 people.

When you read the last case, you can understand that a Muslim can deceive or lie in any circumstances.

This is also mentioned in other hadiths.

Read Sunan Abi Dawud 4921

Also mentioned in Sahih Muslim 2605a

Now Muhammad himself also said that war is deceit in Sahih al-Bukhari 3029

And what Muhammad did?

He told muslims TO FIGHT against disbelivers.

Now we will see Muhammad allowing muslims to lie

Even oaths taken by followers of Muhammad cannot be trusted, read Sahih al-Bukhari 6621

From Jesus words, we can conculde that Taqiyah in Islam is from evil.
