The so called eternal revelation of Allah has verses in it, which gets abrogated shortly after it is revealed. From Quran 2:106 you can read about the verse which Allah talks about abrogation.
This verse clearly mension that Allah will REPLACE the abrogated verse or forgotten verse by better or similar one.
When we go through the Tasfir of this verse from Jalal - Al-Jalalayn 2:106
It says Muhammad tell one thing to his companions one day, on the very next day he forbids it and says against his first saying.
In response to this, Allah revealed the ayah in Quran. Note that Muhammad didn't oppose it, and agree that he do change his words after he uttered it.
This can be also seen in Quran 16:101
People used to say that Muhammad is a fabricator when he try to change his words what he previously taught.
You should understand that when Muhammad become upperhand in power he did not want to have peace with anyone but to kill all those who disbelive him. It is revealed in Quran 47:35
When you learn about the abrogated verses in Quran, you find that most of the abrogated verses are replaced by the MOST VIOLENT verses in Quran, like the Verse of the Sword (Quran 9:5) which was revealed when he got the upperhand in power.
Similar to the abrogation of Quran, Muhammad's own commands are abrogated by his own other commands. It can be seen in Sahih Muslim 344
Abrogation of 2:256 by 9:5 or 9:73
Let's now discuss some of the abrogated verses from Quran. First let's look at Quran 2:256 verse.
Muslims always claim that there is no compulsion Islam by quoting this abrogated verse. This verse was revealed concerning Ansar. It can be found in Tafsir Ibn Kathir 2:256
In the non-abridged arabic version of Tafsir Ibn Kathir you will find that. Read it from Arabic Tafsir of Ibn Kathir 2:256
Heres another translation of this verse [Tafsir Ibn Kathir Part-3 By Al-Firdous Ltd, Abridged by Sheikh Muhammad Nasib Ar-Rifa'i (Aleppo, Syria)] that is purposfully omitted by the Darussalam translation.
Now in the Tafsir of Qurtubi it is mentioned that this verse is abrogated. Read Arabic version of Tafseer al-Qurtubi 2:256. To get the English version Read the translated version by Aisha Bewley of Tafseer al-Qurtubi on volume 3
This confirms that, there is compulsion in Islam which demand non-muslims to accept this religion, else they will be persecuted. Non-muslims are forced to convert to Islam.
Abrogation of 109:6 by 9:5
Now we will look at another abrogated verse Muslims often recite to lie about Islam and call it a religion of peace is Quran 109:6
This peaceful meccan verse is also abrogated by the later violent verse surah 9 ayah 5 which came down much later in Medina when Muhammad was in full power and did not need to cry for peace anymore as mentioned in Quran 45:37.
When you check the Tafsir al-Qurtubi of Quran 109:6
It is also mentioned in Tafsir al-Baghawi of 109:6 that this verse is abrogated by the verse of the sword.
Abrogation of 18:29 by 81:29
Another abrogated verse is from Surah Al-Kahf 18:29
This ayah is abrogated by Surah 81 ayah 29 which says "But you cannot will unless Allah wills"
Abrogation of 60:8 by 60:9
Now read Quran 60:8 which is abrogated by the very next verse 60:9
There are various opinions on whether this verse is abrogated or not.
